All aluminum frames stretched at our facility are individually tensioned. Because we tune each screen our tension tends to be remarkably close frame to frame, even across mesh counts. We dial back from the maximum on the lower counts and push to the top on the higher counts. In the end you receive frames that all have nearly the same tension and will hold usable tension for well more than a year.
For mesh counts up to 230 mesh in the Saati Hitex line you should expect to receive your frames around 25-27 newtons.
For mesh counts 255 - 305 in the Saati Hitex line you should expect to receive your frames around 24-26 newtons.
High tension adds 3 newtons and is only available on some standard thread mesh counts (38-230, and 305)
Frame preparation is key to long lasting screens. We heavily texture the surface of all the frames we stretch. The surface is then de-greased, and pre-glued. This (often skipped) step creates a sealed bond between the mesh and aluminum. When the time comes to re-stretch the frame, additional grinding is not necessary, the base coat we applied will be used again. Overall frame life is increased by not grinding them over and over.
Saati Hitex mesh Holds usable tension for more than a year, and has the durability to actually get there. High tension further improves the performance, for the most demanding production environments.
Pro tips for thin thread (and screens in general).
- Avoid anything sharp. Metal spatulas, nicks in flood bars/coaters, the corners of other frames.
- Start the pressure washer off the frame and sweep on to it.
- Avoid abrasive scrub pads or abraders.
- Avoid excessive heat (Drying under a flash).
